Naturae Slovakia is an iOS App with Augmented Reality experience. With this app, you can experience and learn more about Slovakia and it's cultural regions with an interactive map.
After launching the app, you scan the surface where you want to present the scene, and there you'll see the map of Slovakia. There you can observe and scale different regions of Slovakia. In each of the regions you can observe and read information about some interesting places, which are either cities, rivers, natural parks, or historical buildings. You can also change the surface of the map from satelite to vector texture.
Development
The development of the app took roughly 2 months. We used Swift as a programming language and Xcode as a development software. We used ARKit and SceneKit as a frameworks for the use of augmented relity. Since we were implementing these frameworks, we had to use iPhone and iPad devices, in order to test the AR experience in real life.
3D objects, like regions and castles, were designed and created in 3D Graphic software Blender. We used UV mapping for our textures, to get the correct rendering.

Future plans
The App is functioning and development is finished, however, it is not near the public release. There are still some elements which could be improved and designed better. One of them is the map of Slovakia, the texture is not as easy to read as it could be. Redesign would be optimal, and there could be also more interesting points added in the regions.
